On September 23, 2010, teachers, teaching assistants and administrators came together to discuss the value of teamwork, develop the team for each building and understand the next steps. With twelve of the fifteen building represented, it was a large group. The overall goal was to provide everyone with the data needed to improve instruction which will improve student achievement. The group was lead by Lynda DeLuca and Lynne Eckert and their team from NYSUT Education and Learning Trust.
Many positive comments and concerns were addressed. How can we share the information with the entire building? How can we analyze the data more efficiently so that teachers can use it to drive instruction? In the coming months, data teams throughout the district will be analyzing collected data, doing some creative brainstorming, and discussing ways to best disseminate information and improve instruction.
